The festival is cancelled im afraid. i was told originally that the venue
would not need a lisence but the council found out about the event and have
demanded i get one (an events lisence). i was given 10 working days to hand
one in however that gave me one evening to get an application and hand it
in. On top of this the council totally freaked out the poor man who runs the
campsite by making him think it was no longer the small local folk type
festival that it is and that it is instead a 'Reading/leeds' type event. and
now he has said NO festival, he fears once the council get involved he will
no longer be able to do events like he has done in the past. My main concern
is not the lisencing and the council, it is trying to convince the camp
owner
that there will not be a bombardment of people all wanting to sue him if
they fall over a tree stump and i have tried my hardest but to no avail. The only solution is to be a private organisation with members only, this would make tickets unavailable to the public and thus pointless.
This has never been an issue until now however i do understand the camp
owners concerns i just wish i could have convinced him otherwise.
i am gutted but will pay for any booking fee that people have had to pay out.
send me your address and the amount you paid (booking fee) as for tickets you can get full refunds from the record shops.
Anyone who gave cheques to me there is no monetary problem as i never cashed the cheques and so will simply destroy them or return them to people (let me know what ou would prefer)
i'm really sorry
Sally
PLEASE TELL ANYONE YOU KNOW!!
